Trial, Error, and Teamwork: Building the Automatic Waste Segregator

Today, we spent the afternoon working on the physical prototype for our Creative and Critical Thinking project: an automatic waste segregator.

In the photo, we are completely focused on assembling the main outer housing using a heavy-duty cardboard box. One of us is carefully aligning and securing the top panel of the machine, while the other is kneeling down to construct the lower compartments where the sorted waste will eventually be separated.

Building this prototype really made us realize how critical thinking comes into play when you have to translate a digital design into a physical model. We had to constantly troubleshoot the structural stability and figure out how to arrange the internal sections using the materials we had on hand. It took a lot of collaboration and trial-and-error to get everything aligned, but we are finally seeing our project come together.
